Are Your Products Cruelty Free? (Don't Worry, no bad graphics!)

So I've been using a lot of Younique Make-up lately--and my favorite thing about it is that it is all natural and best of all CRUELTY-FREE. So it got me thinking, what products are tested on animals? Holy cow. Who would have ever known all of these brands STILL test on them.
How is a company certified to be cruelty-free by PETA? According to their website, "Companies listed either signed PETA’s statement of assurance or provided a statement verifying that they do not conduct or commission any animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and that they pledge not to do so in the future."
This blog is not meant to upset any of my readers. Rather, it's meant to get your mind rolling. My biggest beauty devastations is when I found out MAC and Benefit Cosmetics is not cruelty-free. However, I did find out that Urban Decay and Physicians Formula IS! Did I mention that Drew Barrymore's line of cosmetics is cruelty-free as well (awesome job Drew!).
And for those who spend a little more money on their make-up tools...specifically make-up brushes; search for synthetic. I love my make-up, and I most certainly love having nice tools to use to put it on. Synthetic is cruelty-free AND better for application. Animal-hair brushes are more likely to absorb bacteria (even if you clean your brushes regularly!). So this means its BETTER for your skin. Save your pores!
Animal Cruelty isn't something I necessarily think about everyday. But it is something I've recently thought a lot about. Don't get me wrong, I'm no vegetarian, but after researching a little more about beauty products on PETA, it definitely got me rethinking about some of my future beauty purchases! So if you are wondering about some of the ingredients in your make-up..thank you to Pinterest for the info:
